How it works

Installation
Length adjustment

Piles are typically installed using conventional tracked or wheeled excavators equipped with a torque motor attachment. This attachment measures the torque applied during installation to ensure compliance with the design specifications.

Helical Piles are driven into the designated bearing stratum by rotating the steel shafts, a process facilitated by the torque motor connected to the excavator or rig.

Steel sections are joined using bolted connections, with additional sections added as needed to reach the required pile depth.
Strategically positioned helical flights along the shaft allow the pile to penetrate the soil without augering or displacing it, while torque is continuously monitored during installation. To verify compliance with design requirements, the final torque measurement is recorded over the last meter of advancement before the pile is set at the specified datum level.

ISO 9000-Certified Manufacturing

From the first pile to the millionth, every CNT Geotechnical product meets the same exacting standards—guaranteeing uniform performance and reliability on every project.

ICC-ESR Certified

CNT Geotechnical products are backed by an ICC-ESR report, the industry-standard verification that our manufacturing process consistently meets code requirements. This certification ensures that the products we deliver are identical in quality and performance to those submitted for independent testing—giving you confidence in every pile we install.

What to Look for in a Geotechnical Vendor

Engineering and Production

CNT geotechnical

In house engineering

Ensures ability to design to a higher degree of accuracy a pile that fits the project requirements. It also to schedule engineering for higher priority jobs since we have control over that are not beholden to a subcontractor.

CNT geotechnical

Yes

Helix diameters 8” to 36" and shaft diameters 2" to 24"

The ability to design a pile that truly fits the requirements of the site

CNT geotechnical

Yes

New certified steel

Code compliance, used, recycled, and rejected steel has a failure potential.

CNT geotechnical

Yes

Uses American Made and Sourced materials

Many contracts require American sourced materials, non American materials do not have as stringent quality in their steel as American suppliers. Lastly, we like to support American workers.

CNT geotechnical

Yes

End bearing combined with skin friction

The ability for the pile to carry additional loads

CNT geotechnical

Yes

Seismic Code compliant

An additional protection layer against corrosion

CNT geotechnical

Yes

Hot dip galvanized

Protects the structure in the event of an earthquake

CNT geotechnical

Yes

Service

CNT geotechnical

Rapid Response Install Team

This ensures that projects with tight timelines can be completed without delays in the overall schedule.

CNT geotechnical

Yes

Certified welders

Ensures that all the welding is performed with properly trained welders with certificates proving they are competent in their trade

CNT geotechnical

Yes

No weld failures

The weld is the critical component that holds the system together; if the weld fails, the system fails.

CNT geotechnical

Yes

Lifetime warranty

Hundreds of thousands of piles in the ground without a single failure and guarantees in writing that anything constructed will never move.

Key Benefits

Quiet, Clean, and Vibration-Free

Ideal for sensitive environments—no noise, no soil spoils, and no ground vibration.

Versatile Soil Compatibility

Performs reliably in a wide range of soil conditions, including contaminated or high-moisture sites.

All-Weather Installation

Engineered for year-round performance—rain, snow, or shine.

Immediate Load Capacity

Piles are load-ready upon installation, minimizing delays and cutting down on overall project costs.

Applications

Permanent & Temporary Structural Support

Ideal for bridges, retaining walls, flood defenses, and other infrastructure requiring long-term or interim foundation systems.

Industrial & Energy Projects

Trusted for wind turbines, solar farms, telecom towers, and other energy-sector installations where stability is critical.

Specialized Applications

Used for underpinning existing foundations, supporting modular buildings, and reinforcing rail infrastructure.

Lightweight & Temporary Structures

Perfect for walkways, fencing, seating stands, and other structures where speed and mobility matter.

Sacrificial Pile Testing

Precision Starts Below the Surface

At CNT Geotechnical, every project begins with a sacrificial pile test—a critical step in evaluating soil conditions and fine-tuning our designs. This process ensures that each helical pile system is calibrated for maximum performance, reliability, and safety.

With in-house engineering, certified materials, and American-made components, we deliver foundation solutions that not only meet but exceed project requirements from the ground up.
